Booking the space

To book the space, one must fill out an application, liability waiver, photo release, safety and community conduct agreements. Once the application has been approved, space will be booked on the website and you will be sent instructions. The space may be booked for up to three months of consecutive standing times. The space may only be booked by one group or individual per day. In very special occasions and with advanced planning, use of the greater spaces and after hours use may be arranged. For youth activities, the group must be accompanied but adults.

This form is not the application. Once we receive your form submission, we will send you the application and all pertinent paperwork.

    General Protocols

This is a hostility-free space. Any acts of violence or hostility to staff, museum visitors, or The LAB guests will not be tolerated. You will immediately be asked to leave and if need be escorted from the premises by security. The first offense will be documented and reviewed by The LAB staff and Museum. The offender will lose all privileges for the space indefinitely.

There is no eating, drinking, smoking, sexual activity, or drug use in the space. To engage in any of these activities will be a permanent loss of The LAB privileges.

You must leave the space as you found it, please allow clean up time and be mindful of the firm closing time. If you do not follow this, you will lose the rest of your reservation and will not be allowed to re-book the space.

Sound levels in the space: when the door is closed, activity in the space should not be audible outside the space. Be prepared to close the door if asked.

Noxious Materials: this is a clean air space with limited ventilation. There is no use of aerosol, enamel, sharpie, oil paint, incense, etc. We also ask that when you use the space you do not wear perfumes or colognes.

    Consent

We are creating a public record in writing and photo documentation of the space in our blog, archives, and on the calendar. Prior to publishing any materials that reflect your image or use, you will be given a copy for approval. We request you respond to this correspondence in seven days, either to approve or reject the request. If we do not hear from you in seven days we will assume we have your permission to publish the materials. If you do not wish to be photographed or your use made public, we will honor that. There will be a general statement that will hold the place of the outward facing documentation of the time you spend in the space.

In order to organize the space and formalize your use of it we have created protocols around its use. As with all things The LAB, these will continue to be fine-tuned as we grow. We will work to keep it simple and efficient.
